Burger King’s Gluten Free Menu

While out on the go, finding a gluten free fast food meal can often be difficult.   Throughout most of the country, there seems to be a McDonald’s or Burger King on just about every corner, making those both desirable places to have gluten free options.

Most people seem to have a pretty good idea about McDonald’s gluten free menu, but what about Burger King?  Here at Gluten Free Fast Food, we’ve put some time into trying to obtain a complete Burger King gluten free menu, but haven’t gotten anything official yet.

According to our research, there isn’t all that much which can be confirmed to be gluten free at Burger King.  So far the only items we’ve been able to confirm are gluten free are:

  • Tendergrill Garden Salad (bring your own dressing)
  • French Fries (confirm your location uses a dedicated fryer!)
  • Pop/Sodas and milk

That is per Burger King’s official ingredient list (PDF) and allergens list. You can also find more information here.

Because the list is so small, very few (if any) people with Celiac Disease ever go there, leaving their employees uneducated about our needs.  As a result, unless you only have a Burger King in your area, we suggest you instead head over to somewhere like McDonald’s to find your gluten free meal.

Bonus: Want to take gluten free fast food information with you on the go? We recommend the excellent Gluten Free Restaurants Guide, which is a small print guide that includes over 5,000 restaurants and 80 restaurant menu lists from many major restaurant chains. It even features a breakdown by state so you can find gluten free restaurant menu information no matter where you are within the United States!

I wouldn’t trust the french fries at Burger King. I have had several experiences where my fries either had an onion ring in them or tasted like onion rings because they were not from a dedicated fryer. It appears that they have removed the allergen info from their website. The link provided here no longer takes you to that info.
